At the end of the classic 1930’s movie King Kong, as the giant ape lay dead at the base of the Empire State Building, the character Carl Denham says “Twas beauty killed the beast!”. Well it may have killed King Kong but it’s sure giving life to streaming sites all over the world.
Beauty pageants are being produced probably every day all over the planet. The big ones like the Miss Universe and Miss America pageants are the headliners but that’s not to say the others aren’t as anticipated and enjoyed. Every country has beauty pageants it seems. Even countries embraced in wars take time to showcase the ladies in evening gowns and other costumes. People tune in in droves to see who will win and the hierarchy of these pageants leads to suspense and wonder continually.
Thanks to streaming we can see more of these pageants as they’re being broadcast live. From Argentina to Morocco, to Lithuania and China, if you know where to go you could be watching beauty talent shows 24/7. Advertisers know this and fight to get their products advertised so they sponsor whatever pageant they think will bring the customers in. Cosmetics companies mostly but even real estate and other products and services help to get those contests on the air.
Many a pageant winner or contestant have gone on to more fame and fortune. Some get movie deals and some television shows and recording contracts. India is big in this regard and controversy abounds sometimes. Japan, S. Korea, and China have beauty pageants that look like theme parks. They don’t kid around with their pageants and the entertainment value is through the roof.
So there ain’t no end to beauty via streaming and that means more is due to come.
